Dear Friends and Family,
Lots of children are diving into books and reading their best for the Horizons Reading Challenge. It's exciting to be a part of it because this is a way of giving back to our community.
All proceeds raised by the Horizons Reading Challenge will be applied to the cost of sending a child to the Horizons program, approximately $3,200 per child. The program not only provides academic support but also enrichment experiences such as art, music, dance and swimming lessons to 135 K-8th grade children who otherwise might not have the opportunity to participate in these great things.
Thank you for helping this cause by making a donation to the Horizons Reading Challenge. Please know that no amount is too small. Every bit counts and is truly appreciated.
Thank you for all of your support and encouragement!
About this fundraiser:
Horizons at Brooklyn Friends School is a six-week summer academic enrichment program that serves 135 low-income public school students, grades K-8, the majority of whom live in three public housing communities in downtown Brooklyn. Children come to BFS and participate in academic work, as well as enrichment activities. They are exposed to experiences they may not otherwise have, to strengthen their joy of learning, to instill skills for success and to inspire them to realize their dreams.
