About this fundraiser:
By a conservative estimate, 43 million Americans suffer from a mental illness. Every year, 44,193 Americans die from suicide, and an overwhelming number of those are due to untreated mental illnesses. That's a staggering number, yet nobody seems to be talking about it.
Unabridged is going to change that. Together, we are going to cross the Golden Gate Bridge a sum total of 44,193 times in order to
-honor those who are lost to suicide every year
-raise money for mental illness treatment and prevention programs lead by Mental Health America
-bring nationwide attention to the widespread burden of mental illness
We want to make this event so large that it can't be ignored. So sign up to do 5, 15 or 50 crossings, and join the movement.
Your donations will help pay for:
- Promoting mental health throughout America
- Educating the public about the realities of mental illness
- Funding research and mental healthcare services
