About this fundraiser:

Welcome to the 2018 Neil Cummins Readathon!

The Readathon is a school fundraiser where our goal is to get students excited about reading and to collect pledges in support of their reading efforts during one special all-school reading day.
Readathon day will be Wednesday February 7th, 2018 – on this day, each student will spend about 300 minutes reading (or being read to) and doing reading related activities. That’s 175,000 minutes of reading across all students!

All donations are due on Monday, February 28, 2018.

This is a fun and educational event that develops our kids’ love for reading and supports the programs and resources our school needs to help them thrive throughout the year.

HOW IT WORKS
Students invite people to sponsor them by pledging to pay for each minute they read or are read to. Sponsors can pledge an amount per minute read (our goal is 300 minutes per student) or a flat amount. Relatives, friends and neighbors all make great sponsors!

And, their donations are FULLY tax deductible. Your receipt will have the information you need! If you would prefer for your child to collect cash or checks, they can pick up a pledge tracking sheet and envelope in the school office. Then, these donations can be placed in the donation box in the school office.

*Please note that 99Pledges will receive each student’s name, class, grade and a family email address, but all information is confidential and will NOT be shared.

SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD
Prior to the Readathon, help your child build a bag of books. Visit the library - school and public - and stock up on just the right books that will keep your child engaged throughout the day. Help your child label his/her personal books before bringing them to school. Your child's teacher will have specific volunteer times available if you are interested in being in the classroom so check with them directly.

PRIZES
The classroom(s) with the 100% student participation will receive a special class trophy and classroom party with fun entertainment! (100% participation rate refers to any class where each student has at least one donation of any amount.) If multiple classes have 100%, the class with the largest dollar amount wins the trophy.

All donations are tax deductible. Your e-receipt will have the information you need. Thank you for your support!

Let us know if you have any questions – we’re here to help – and thanks in advance for your support!
