Dear Friends and Family,

I am lacing up my sneakers next month (June 2) and walking to raise money for my school at BCLA's Lead the Way 5K Fundraiser Walk. This event raises money for a 9th Grade Orientation at Thompson Island, funds for Community Action Seminars and Clubs, and new technology.

I would appreciate it (and so would the entire BCLA community) if you could help support me. City budget cuts have meant fewer teachers and electives, and this money will fund exciting new programming at BCLA.

About this fundraiser:

Boston Community Leadership Academy prepares its students to be critical thinkers and civic-minded leaders in their communities. City budget cuts in recent years have resulted in the loss of staff and resources that have impacted the school community. BCLA plans to use donations from this fundraiser to:

1) Bring back the highly successful Thompson Island orientation program for freshmen
2) Fund Community Action Seminars and clubs
3) Purchase new technology

Contributions will benefit all students, and BCLA thanks you for your support.
